Tonight will be our first official day in our new apartment and we are stoked! We moved our stuff in earlier this week and just cannot get over our excitement about this new place of ours and where we live. We just love our neighborhood. The young vibe, the restaurants and bars, the amazing fruit stand. I couldn’t help but be reminded about the Hotel Astoria we came across in Venice. It seems our love for Astoria is everywhere.
The streets are so beautiful in Rome. Every corner we turned got more and more romantic.
And took so many pictures of fountains we couldn’t even count. Okay we could count. And we did. There are 21.
Took breaks throughout the day for caffè.
We had an insane amount of gelato (tell me again how it’s possible I actually *lost* weight on this trip?).
But it was worth it. We made sure to enjoy more than just sight seeing.
I’m pretty sure we walked so much our feet about fell off.
And ate the most delicious Italian food we could have imagined. Dishes that sounded so simple were the most complex thing in our mouths.
We wandered into churches we didn’t know the names of.
Rome was magnificent. So old and beautiful. Seeing so many ruins was just stunning. Every time we turned a corner and saw another huge pillar still standing made us cower in reverence for the heros in our past and all the paving they did for the future of our world.
So let’s talk Italy!
This is where we’re staying in Venice!

Isn’t it amazing?! HB said he wanted to splurge on something really romantic, so he got us a suite on the channel with a baloney. We go from the bus stop (from Rome) straight to our door, all without leaving the water. EEE!!

We leave for Italy one week from today!!
