he is simply the greatest human we've ever encountered.

I’ve determined that having a group of mama friends with babies in the same age range as yours is key to feeling like you didn’t just fall off the Social Earth after giving birth. And bonus, it makes you feel like you have a solid grip on motherhood.
A lot of our usual get togethers with close friends didn’t change a whole lot after having the baby, but our going-out with others definitely did, so sometimes feeling like we’re “getting out” can be challenging (although it hasn’t been a negative thing to us, since we’re really enjoying our time at home together with the baby as a family in the evenings). Also, now that I get to be at home to take care of Colton, creating ways to stay socially interactive during the week has been critical to feeling well rounded.
I love these girls. My Bradley Girls. We met them and their husbands in our Bradley birth class, which I feel so lucky about because I almost didn’t take the class. It’s funny because we talk about how after being invited to share our birth stories to subsequent classes, we realized how some of them had really odd ball people in them, and we truly did get lucky to end up in each others class. It’s great, too, because we obviously all had the same views on childbearing, but after getting to know each other so well and having hung out the past six months together, we learned that we pretty much all share the same views on childrearing as well. I think it’s just the same vein of mindset… natural, mom-baby connectedness, which translates to attachment parenting… which let me tell you, having like minds has been the most important part in feeling connected and wanting to all hang out and talk and share. It really makes us like each other that much more because we can all relate to one another; we feel accepted, understood, empathy, support.
We always talk about how amazing it is that we all liked each other and became friends. And how perfect is it that there are two boys and two girls! I’m thankful for each one of them and their beautiful families.
