Halloween this year got a little out of hand, in the best possible way.

When I first started brainstorming ideas for Halloween this year, I knew I wanted something super cute for my baby, taking full advantage of his age. Since he’s only going to continue to get bigger and older, turning into a boy, into a teenager, into a man, that means I only have a few years in control of super cuteness before his costumes become scary and ugly and superpower things. ::shudder:: So after lots of online browsing, I finally settled on this:

Yay for cutebuns! But because it’s me and I like group costumes, I convinced HB to dress up again and the squeezeyourcheeksoffcute lion turned into this:

Bah I love it! (Can you believe this is the first time I’ve dressed as Dorothy?) And of course once I told my sisters and mom, they jumped on the idea and didn’t hesitate to say they wanted to dress up too. And then I told a few friends and they joined in on the action and suddenly it turned into this:

Amazing right?! We had SO much fun!

From Left to Right, my twin friends were supposed to be the lollipop guild men with their mom, and then Amy’s husband was going to be the mean tree that throws apples, and their baby an apple, but the mom and hubs chickened out (lame-os!) so Amy took the tree role and Jen went guild-man solo. My mom was the Yellow Brick Road, and my dad the Man Behind the Curtain (the Wizard). Obviously we were the Cowardly Lion, the Tin Man, Dorothy, and Todo. My sister was Glenda the good witch, and her boyfriend the Scarecrow. My other sister was the Wicked Witch of the West and her boyfriend was going to be a flying monkey, but sadly he had to work at the last minute. We missed you Josh!

We went to this giant Halloween carnival where they had tons of slides and bounce houses and games; a petting zoo, pony rides, face painting, photo booths; and a lot of local vendors were there with their food trucks, including In-and-Out and Chick-fil-A! We got smoothies and funnel cake and churros, too. And then at the end of the night they had fireworks. It was the best Halloween I’ve had since I’ve been able to remember.

Hope everyone had a great silly holiday too!
