he is simply the greatest human we've ever encountered.

Sorry for the missing update the last three days… It was a whirlwind of a Friday. We were supposed to leave for camping at 7p and didn’t get home from the doctors until 630p and I still hadn’t packed up all the clothes. The pediatrician cleared him from it being an ear, throat, or lung infection; just something viral he was fighting off of whoknowswhat. She said it was okay to go camping since it was a warm weekend and we were staying in cabins, so it wasn’t *that* rustic, and we were hoping it was just going to be a 24hr thing. So we loaded up the car and by 830p we were off.
The entire weekend he fought that blasted fever. I hated drugging him up every 4-6 hours, but when I would wait and see if his body could manage alone, it would spike again to 102.6 and I just didn’t want to be risky out in the middle of nowhere, or make his body work harder than it needed to if I could help him. He slept a ton, threw up every day, and was generally a sad babe. He had moments of happiness, little bursts of play, but then he would whimper and reach for him and just lay his head on my chest and blink all slowly. I felt horrible for him. We spent a lot of time in the cabin napping.
We got back last night at 2am and his fever had FINALLY broke! Finally. He’s pretty much back to himself again today. Literally, the first time he smiled and talked all weekend I cried, I was so relieved to see there he was still himself somewhere deep in there. So awful to see your child sick and not be able to do anything but wait and watch.
Thanks to all those who threw out a prayer for him!xo
