baby rocks.

My dearest friend Emily had her second baby yesterday, her first son. I’m so proud of her and really thankful for jealous of her crazy quick birth. I cannot wait to meet this little guy next week! Congratulations you guys. You have such a beautiful little family!

August Robert Kilpatrick, born at home on Monday morning at 5:37 am after a 2-1/2 hour labor. He is 8 pounds, 10 ounces, 21-1/4 inches long, with a 14-1/2 inch noggin.

Everyone is doing well! I’ll post a link to his birth story for those who are interested—after I write it, that is. For now, we’re enjoying a restful day at home.

Thanks to everyone who prayed for us—your prayers were much needed and deeply felt!

And a big thanks to our midwife, Sue, who probably doesn’t read my blog, but who deserves the recognition regardless. I could hardly wish for a better birth.
